    Hi folks,
    New member here. I’ve got a Freedom Amp (ca. 1999 ish) wood case, and it distorts very badly. Well, nicely if you want that sound all the time. I though it must be the battery and I found a replacement battery- 12 dollars!!!- from the OEM manufacturer. No help. Anyone know where I can get a schematic for it? Or have any ideas on repairing it?

    Hi Bruce,
    I’d love to know where you found the replacements. Do they have a website? Just in case I need one too someday :)

    I’m in the middle of trying to restore a 1975 Freedom Amp, and it’s costing me a small fortune :angry:

    Yes, the company is the Power-Sonic corporation. Battery is model PS-1242. It’s been replaced, easy to see the replacement model(I can’t remember it right now..). The original was 12 volt, 4.5 amp hour. I think the new one is 5 amp hour. Identical case.

    I’m having the same problem – I love this little amp. Bought it about 6 years ago and it has traveled with me all over the world. I was replacing the battery that finally died, and my two-year-old son shoved a screwdriver in the circuit board (trying to help daddy) and knocked off some stuff. I think I got everything back on right, but now I’m getting some really bad distortion coming through.

    A schematic would really help me out if anyone has one!
