I have a vintage Instant Replay with the trigger pad, which I love immensely.
I would love to see something similar reissued, but with the ability to program the samples into rhythmic patterns, like the DRM series, and with MIDI compatibility so I can sync it to the 16 Second Digital Delay, or the HOG. And for fun, it would be great to throw in the Space Drum, Hand Clap, and Rolling Thunder samples from the vintage units.
Any thoughts on this?

Haha, seriously, this idea doesn’t seem all that farfetched.
Actually what it would be is a pedal-sized sampler and sequencer with a CV trigger input and MIDI ports. It’s not like it has to be 32-bit sampling or anything like that. In fact, I really like the sound of lofi percussion sampling, so that would be even cooler for me.
And just as a cheeky nod to the past, it should include bonus factory samples of all of these:

C’mon, doesn’t anyone else think this would be fun?
November 7, 2008 at 5:02 pm #87211CowbellMemberCouldn’t you just use a 2880 looper and record everything on that?

I’m not sure what you’d be looking for but it does sequencing, has midi in/out, can be slaved, etc. Check it out, it might be something your looking for. I know its gonna be my next purchase for sure.
