I have an amp that I built that i would like to use in a re-amping setup, and have been trying to find a suitable power amp for that purpose. My question is how neutral sounding is the 44 Magnum? I don’t want the sound of the original amp to be colored very much, if at all. Also, where on the dial does the 44 Magnum start to distort? Does it stay pristine clean until that point? Any input on using this device in this situation would be appreciated.

Your amp’s output into another amp input: How do you plan to match impedance/power/etc?
Questions to ask:
– What’s the output inpedance of your amp?
– What’s the input impedance of the Magnun?Connecting the output of your amp into another amp could damage both amps.
I’d love to be wrong because I would like to connect my Vox AC4 into “something magical” to boost it’s output. But I never found a solution to do that other than mic’ing it into a PA.
I don’t know of any solution where you can connect a speaker output into some sort of power amp input, unless you create a box that apply a load to simulate a speaker load and avoid frying yout amp and bring the output to a line level so you can connect it to another amp.

What are you going to use for the dummy load?

It sounds ok, but I think I’m going to add a bright switch and mess around with a bit to see if I can improve it. If not, I might try a Weber or maybe make my own.
