The volume of the e and b strings through the Ravish Sitar is much lower than the other strings.
Latest try was just a simple strat direct to the pedal. Lower volume happens on all patches.
Strat is brand new so i don´t expect the pots on the pickups to be the problem.
I thought the algorithms in the pedal are affecting the volume of the higher frequencies.
However the g string at higher notes do not have volume drops.
Is anybody having the same problem?
are you sure it’s not the metal pole pieces in the pickups directly affecting output volume?
I know my old strat had all sorts of problems with that.
that was my first thought but the strat is one week old. Strats, mine included, have staggered poles that come setup from factory. Nothing we can do, except raise the pickup, but that will change the balance of the guitar sounds. The strat by itself seems to be okay volumewise. i will try that first. Could it be that staggered pole pickups may not be great for the Ravish? that would be sad.
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah like I said, my old strat had problems with it. I ended up filing/sanding down the raised poles and then raising the entire pickup, although mine wasn’t for a Ravish it was so playing with a bow would pick up more evenly. Hooray cheapie guitars.
You probably don’t want to do that though.
you could try a compressor before the Ravish to even out all the strings volume levels.
The effect IS more mellow on the higher strings which have less energy than the lower strings (thicker strings) this is part of the sound of the effect. This happens with envelope filters as well.
If you think its your guitar maybe see if you can try a friends guitar out to compare.
Does it do this on all the pickups even the bridge? New guitars are often setup pretty wack for some reason even pricy ones.
