Does any one here have both of these tube units?
I am curious about the sound differences between them.

I have the English Muffn which I adore but I have never heard the Hot Tubes.
    Thanks

I have both and let me tell you they are completely different. The Muff’n is the slightly tipsy classy lady at the bar while the Hot Tubes is the drunk overconfident raging whore.

But in all seriousness, I had my Hot Tubes first and it’s just been sitting around for awhile since I got my Muff’n. I’ll have to get the two out and make some clips for you! I’ll work on it tonight if I get time…

I have had both for many years and let me assure you they couldn’t be more different. The English Muff’n is arguably the best overdrive unit ever made (easily number one, IMO). Hot Tubes is amazing as well – it can best be described as a flexible Big Muff… and I say this only because it’s definitely in that particular family of distortion. They are both indispensible tools and I couldn’t imagine playing/recording without them.

    Thanks guys.
I agree the Muff’n is hands down the best OD I have ever used.
I have seen the reaction of people when I have used it in the studio.
People just light up when I use that thing.

I will have to get a Hot Tubes now as well!

ive been wondering the same thing too

ive got the muff’n and think its the best pedal ive ever brought

i was also thinking about getting another one too but then i noticed the hot tubes, all of my store dont stock it, and im too indicisive when it comes to these decision

i think i will either get another muff’n and swap the tubes around, or just get another muff’n and keep it the same, just different gain based sounds

    thanks

also what are your settings you use on the muff’n ?
