    Hello,

    I heard from somebody who said EHX support told them, that a newer version of the Cock Fight pedal is being made, which allows a person to turn off the wah filter part of the pedal so that they can use just the fuzz side of the pedal without any filtering.

    Is there any information on when these newer versions of the Cock Fight pedal will be available in stores – and how can people tell whether a Cock Fight pedal is the newer version or the older one?

    The improvement to the original Cockfight pedal was made about 6 months ago. That means all units shipped in the past 6 moths have the fuzz only switch.
    The only way to tell is to remove the back panel.
    The new Cockfight+ does not have this switch.

    Thanks for the response!

    I received my EHX Cock Fight in the mail today, and I found out with some help from EHX Facebook support that the switch, like you said, is inside the pedal, so you have to remove the back cover of the pedal to access it.

    It’s a very tiny internal switch, and it’s labelled “ON<--FUZZ-->OFF", and setting that switch to ON makes the pedal fuzz-only when the fuzz position switch on the front of the pedal is set to "FUZZ OFF". If the internal “ON<--FUZZ-->OFF" switch is set to OFF, then setting the fuzz position switch on the front of the pedal to "FUZZ OFF" will turn off the fuzz and leave just the wah filter. With the internal switch set either way, both the PRE and POST fuzz settings keep their regular functionality, with both the wah filter and the fuzz being in effect. This pedal sounds awesome, BTW. Also, I think that every pedal should have the voltage Bias feature. I mean, why not?

    I love love love the EHX Cock Fight…and the fuzz is an intergral part of my sound.

    I love the wah too, and get a lot of great tones often without the fuzz.

    I’m certainly not complaining…but I’ve realised that would would be perfect would be to be able to turn the wah on/off when I need it? In the same way you can turn the fuzz on and off.

    I’ve removed the back panel and it looks like I don’t have the latest version of the Cockfight with the fuzz on/off switch which would’ve made a modification fairly straight forward.

    My dad is very handy with electronics, just wondering with the older Cockfight (which I have) if it’s possible to modify the circuit to be able to turn off the wah? Or put in the on/off fuzz switch you have in the newer model? Any chance I could get the specs/schematic/instructions for that mod?

    I live in New Zealand – So I’m assuming there’s no EHX repairer I can get that sent to to make any modifications?

    Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated :)
