Hey guys… i need some help here… i play the bass guitar and i own a Q-tron plus and im very satisfied with it, but it seems to loose some low-end in low pass and even more in mix mode… I was thinking into selling it and buying an Enigma. But i cant take that decision, as i love Q-tron+’s fx loop… it’s very tricky with distortion/fuzz and delay in there! Also one more problem.. the q-tron seems to overload too much! even when having the gain less than the middle.
Any suggestions? in what spots does Enigma surpasses the Q-tron Plus? (except the greater low-end respose, since it’s made for bass)
i cant comment on between the two pedals as i have never owned them together to compare.
but you can try splitting your signal into two chains, one thrue the effect(s) and the other dry trait to amp.
that will should recover your lost end, but still give you effect, you just have to mix them together with a small pedalboard friendly mixer.
perhaps a compressor for before the Qtron and a volume boost or EQ afterwards.
About splitting, it’s not necessary as MIX mode supports well the bass’ (dry) signal, so the loss is mostly of the effect. About the compressor, I always have one in the beginning of the chain, and so do at the end (since the amplifier’s got a compressor/limiter). The amp also has a very effective EQ, but except of that, i tried putting in chain EHX Steel Leather for more attack. The problem still insists tho. The strange thing is that noone ever had an issue of loosing low-end especially on Low-Pass mode.. (at least i still havent found any complaint about it)
oh common!! Noone else has any opinion about that??
