I am a guitar player who owns the original Q tron..I have been told by others if i like the original Q tron i should check out the Q tron plus…I have also been told that the original Q Tron is more of a Bass players effect and the Q tron plus is centered more towards guitar players ..My question is if any of this is true..I know that bass players do use the Q Tron but is one better than another for a standard guitar player? Also can some one explain what the pros of getting the Q Tron plus model would be over the original Q Tron and is there any negatives of the plus model compared to the original?

i would say that the qtron+ is for experimentalists… fwiw, i traded my qtron for the qtron+ and haven’t been blown away. it certainly opens up new possibilities, but i generally dislike the sound of running your distortion into a filter so the fx loop isn’t necessary to me. i have, however, had fun putting a looper into the effects loop.

it wasn’t ‘useful’ fun, but it was fun.

lastly: sim tut’s right, they sound practically identical until you put something into that fx loop. the ‘slow’ setting on the qtron+ is only a TINY bit slower than the fast setting, i dont understand it.

Check out the Riddle: Q-Balls. It does a lot more than the Q-Tron+ (except for
    the Loop).

I really like the older “Big Box” Q-Tron & I like the Riddle a lot more than the
    Q-Tron+.

you can’t really compare the riddle with the q-tron. q-tron is designed to sound like the mu-tron III and the riddle seems to be trying (and imo failing hard) to be like a meatball.
i really loved the big box q-tron but i sold it yesterday haha.

@ above – the effects loop lets you plug other effects into the circuitry of the q-tron so that you can affect just the sweep rather than having the effect after the whole pedal. if that makes sense.
