I’ve been in the market for a older version Q-tron (silver case, non XO) and have found one for sale that is in near mint condition. The model has Round Knobs, card board box, and “Made in NYC_USA” label. The seller has told me is was bought just 5 months ago and was only used once (not sure from where, i.e gear shop, pawn shop, etc). The pictures show the pedal and the box and they seem to be in very good condition. But in all the Q Trons I’ve ever seen, I’ve never seen any of them with the newer “Made in NYC_USA” label. Not to mention how one could be bought new in the past 5 months considering the XO is the only version EHX currently manufactures (to the best of my knowledge).
If it is as advertised, I’d make a generous offer. Should I be concerned?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated
You mean like this:

It’s possible it was NOS, just sitting around for years somewhere waiting for a buyer.
Well that’s what I was thinking, or hoping. I’ve attached an image of the pedal. Its difficult to tell but the label is actually the abbreviated “NYC_ USA”, which is how its labeled on all the lasted EHX pedals. I’m probably over thinking this but it just seems unusual and I can’t find a single other image or posting of the classic Q-Tron with these markings.
Might be one of the last big box units. It seems to be legit. I found a couple on ebay.
forgive me for asking but is there a market in copied pedals?!!
Depends on what it is. Direct counterfeits probably aren’t as much of an issue these days with the worldwide marketplace available.
