Dear friends,
I have a following set of effects:
input > tuner > soul preacher > wailer wah > big muff > OD > polychorus > bad stone > canyon > 360 lopper > amp.
the compressor induced a bit of hiss, big muff just makes it noisy as hell as any distortion would, wailer wah allows this cool noise wah thing. I got myself a Silencer to put in the chain and eliminate as mush of this noise as I can. The Silencer has two options as far as I can tell:
1) to put it in the chain like this:
input > tuner > soul preacher > wailer wah > big muff > OD > SILENCER > polychorus > bad stone > canyon > 360 lopper > amp;
2) to use the effects loop (which I might not exactly understand):
input > tuner > soul preacher > SILENCER’s input – SILENCER’s send > wailer wah > big muff > OD > SILENCER’s return – SILENCER’s output > polychorus > bad stone > canyon > 360 lopper > amp;
I don’t really see much difference and keep playing with settings of the Silencer so that it wouldnt kill my dynamics and would eliminate as much hiss and noise as possible: I managed to be able to completely eliminate the hiss and big muff’s noise without too much of the attack loss of the first note I play out of silence. But if you could please point me towards what could be a correct way of using the Silencer to its full, Id really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
Nevermind, figured it out myself, cheers!
