    Hello!
We write here because we need help. We are desperate.
We are a electroacustic duo and use two 45000 loop stations in our concerts.

Vincenzo bought his loop station in 2015, an ex demo.
He used it very few times, until 2019 when I also bought a 45000 (new), and we started using them in our new live set.
We did several tests in which we learned the various mechanisms (sync midi, quantize…) The first time we used them in a live (March 2019) we had several problems. It seemed that the midi sync between two loop stations was not working good and at some point my loop station has locked on the rec function. We tried to disconnect and reconnect the power supply, remove the SD card and put it again, change the SD card … but nothing.
Vincenzo’s also had the same problems.
The next day we inquired about various forums and updated the firmware and formatted the SD cards.
Since then the two loop stations have worked perfectly, for several months.
Occasionally one of the two would lock but it was enough to disconnect and reattach the power supply to make it work properly again.
On December 15th, however, during a concert, my 45000 got stuck on the REC.

When it crashes, specifically this happens:
    – New loop flashes
    – I push the rec button on the foot controller and the REC starts
    – When I go to press again to play, nothing happens, the loop remains in REC function
    – Sometimes, pushing the PLAY button on the foot controller, the yellow button flashes but removing the pressure of the foot the light disappears and the loop remains in REC function
    – Other times, pressing the REC button on the foot controller twice, the loop goes to PLAY.
    – Other times is completely out of control

Maybe for 5 minutes everything magically works properly again, but then it locks up again and becomes unmanageable.

Specifically, after this concert on December 15, we reassembled the set at home to do various rehearsals. My loop station was completely unmanageable. The foot controller did not seem to communicate well with the loop station. Sometimes the REC light was up in the foot but not in the loop. Other times viceversa. In addition to the same blocking problems.
I tried to update the firmware, format the sd again, buy new sd … It didn’t work out. At some point I tried to use Vincenzo’s foot controller with my loop station. From that moment the looper has started working well again.

The day after I bring it in concert (my solo concert) with Vincenzo’s foot controller, but during the soundcheck the loop station no works good. It crashes continuously.

At the same time Vincenzo tries his loop station at his home, with my foot controller. For a whole day it works very well, the next day it no longer works.

We are professional musicians, we have a very complicated set and we can’t have these problems on stage.
For us, loop stations are fundamental and we use them in sync midi master / slave and desynchronized too.
Of course, we excluded human error because the problems come and go for no apparent and certain reason

What can be the reason ?? We are going crazy.
Could it be the stability of the power?
However, it is very strange that several times went perfectly and now they both have problems (but even in single use).
    Could they be firmware bugs?
Unfortunately we can’t think to buy 95000 because we need control with our hands and feets too.
But we love Ehx and 45000, it’s the perfect looper for our set and we want to solve the problem.
Thank you very much and sorry for our imperfect english.

I have had this problem and resolved it with help of staff here.

Mine was two-fold. I had the same sequence of issues as yourself. First you’ll need to be able to say that you’ve done a firmware update, and that you’re using the correct power supply. Then I was advised to format my SD Card using https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/ and performing a full overwrite. It worked again, great. For a while…

…I found that this issue was actually being triggered by using my controller switch. Every time I connected it and performed any action, it would go back to the faulty state. When I stopped using the controller and just went with it as a desktop toy, I’ve never seen the problem again.

Hopefully someone at EHX will see this as a follow-on/hijack question – can I use any sort of generic hardware to simply trigger the record on/off? It’s the only way that I really miss the footswitch. My unit is past warranty, my footswitch unit itself has been tested with another 45000 with no issue. Tested with multimeter, no continuity faults etc. A workaround solution would be good, even as a PM if you dont want to advertise it.

I sold mine to that other user who did not experience the same problem. Give a brother a break :)
