The other guitarist in my band has been using an EHX Memory Boy and all of a sudden it wouldn’t work correctly at practice last week. Basically, when you turn it on you only get a full signal if the blend knob is turned all the way down. When you turn the knob up, the signal gets lower and lower, but no delay effect is ever present. I was wondering if anybody has had the same problem with this pedal and if there might be some way to fix it manually. If its not something I should be tinkering with, what are his options? Is EHX usually cool about fixing problems like this?
There’s a small board inside with the delay ICs on it. Try reseating the board.
thank you. i’ll give that a shot and let you know what happens.
he tried a different 9v adapter and it started working…after he ordered an new one on ebay. haha. its weird because we actually tried a couple different adapters before i asked for help on this forum. anyway..i told him if he ever has a problem with it again, i was given a possible solution on here. so maybe at some point down the line, i’ll have some feedback as to whether your suggestion worked or not. well..i’m new to these boards..but i play a few EHX pedals (micro synth xo, small stone v4, cathedral reverb) and i plan on expanding upon my collection very soon. i love most of what EHX puts out so i’ll try not to be a stranger.
