Hi, I recently bought an EHX Canyon pedal. I’m really happy with it except for one problem. (I’m still getting used to it, so I may be doing something wrong.)
The problem: in Octave mode, the LED flashes and there is a plopping sound in my amp. The same happens, only a lot faster, in Shimmer mode. Otherwise it works just as it should.
Any suggestions please?August 27, 2018 at 8:34 pm #124239gvelascoParticipantMake sure you’re using the correct power supply. The one that came with it is preferable, but if not, then one that supplies the correct amount of voltage and current.
Supplied EHX9.6DC 200mA AC adapter. The CANYON requires 150mA at 9VDC with a center-negative plug.
Then, do a factory reset following these instructions:
To erase the secondary knob settings of every mode and reset the internal footswitch’s tap tempo to the factory default, first unplug the CANYON from power. Press and hold both the TAP/DIVIDE switch and the footswitch. Then, while holding both switches, plug power back in to the CANYON. The LED will cycle through red, orange and green to indicate that the CANYON has been restored to factory default secondary knob settings and tap tempo settings.
Let us know if this helped.

Factory reset helped for a while but I t just got worse and came back. I just had mine replaced on warranty. Not happy so far. Always been suspicious of EHX build quality and this doesn’t help

I’m sad to say that I’ve waited forever to get this pedal and I’ve watched the demo video with Bill Ruppert like 30 times.,I purchased this pedal just for the “Crystal Shimmer” effect alone. My real problem is that even with a factory reset and the using the original power supply it still sounds absolutely nothing like the official demo video that you guys put out it just sounds like a church organ via the POG and all the other effects that make up the effect are not audible. I’ve watched unofficial demos too and they sound great also I’ve tweaked the secondary controls and the effect is pretty much the same . Maybe someone could help maybe I purchases a defective one who knows but one thing I know it doesn’t sound like any of the demos I’ve seen.

September 7, 2021 at 12:14 am #185312martyhbassParticipantI’m having the same problem.
The octave sound is just live a repeated plopping sound. I’ve reset the factory setting and still nothing.
Any ideas as to what to do?

January 3, 2022 at 5:43 pm #186792Tony DeLesDernierParticipantJust got my Canyon. It’s having trouble in almost all modes with a crackling almost blown speaker sound on almost anything middle c and lower. I’m assuming this isn’t normal?
