My latest version. Miles left to explore still but of course I want more.
January 23, 2011 at 4:08 pm #113959bobcunninghamParticipantfirst post here. here’s my rig:
Squier Telecaster Custom > JD 535Q Crybaby > vintage EHX Big Muff Pi > Noisemaker Effects Crush Fuzz > Boss DS-1 > Boss MT-2 > Boss SD-2 Dual Overdrive > EB Jr Volume Pedal > vintage Fender Phaser > EHX Small Clone > Boss BF-2 Flanger > Biyang AD-8 Delay > Boss RV-3 > Boss DD-5 > Fender Pro Reverb + Fender Princeton 65. the little black box under the tank is a homemade switcher; the black one is a tap tempo, the silver one switches between the Boss SD-2s two channels.
i’ve got a NYC Big Muff on the way, so i’m entertaining the idea of selling the vintage one.
i’m building a small board for my daughter that will have a Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone distortion and a Danelectro DC-1 Cool Cat Chorus.
in addition, i’ve got an Arion SCH-Z Stereo Chorus and a Boss DD-6 on the way that i plan on making into another small board along with one of the other dirt boxes (maybe the Crush Fuzz).January 23, 2011 at 8:41 pm #113965efilhoMemberQuote:i’m entertaining the idea of selling the vintage one.
And why would you do that?

well… basically the word “vintage” is meaningless to me. cash is cash.

Have you compared both?
You’d obviously make good money selling the old BMP. But wait until you have both with you and test them side by side for more than one afternoon.
I’ve regretted selling pedals in the past finding out that some (not all) re-issues are crap in comparison and the vintage that are available cost small fortunes.
Don’t get me wrong. I have a new BMP and it sounds awesome. But if I had a vintage I’d be quite hesitant to sell it to buy a re-issue.
But well… It’s your pedal… your money … your tone … you do whatever pleases you and make someone else happy!!!
Your set up is quite cool, by the way!!!
January 23, 2011 at 9:10 pm #113968bobcunninghamParticipantyeah, i can’t wait to test them side by side.
and thanks, the rig went through 7 rebuilds/re-arrangements/additions in the last year. next step is moving the entire setup off the plywood and onto a black melamine shelf type board. so it’ll look as clean as the little volume/wah board on the side.
January 23, 2011 at 9:18 pm #113969efilhoMemberYeah… I’m also always tampering with my setup. Pedals come and go… but I got to a board now that I’m quite happy with.
Have you tried the SKB-55 (Stage 5)?
The power supply in it is very good and all well integrated. My pedals are dead silent as far as hum and hiss. And it’s easy to setup for playing:
– Open the case
– Plug into power
– Plug guitar in
– Plug to ampAnd ready to go!
January 23, 2011 at 9:52 pm #113971bobcunninghamParticipanthm interesting. i’ve never really been fond of the appearance of most factory boards. i dislike velcro. i also don’t like to SEE the power supply. the only major issue i’d change right now would be the powering of my board most of them are powered by 2 regulated/filtered adapters daisychained. there’s really very little noise but i’m thinking i’d love a more professional power supply under there.

What I do is to keep an old pillow on top of the pedals to keep them in place when I’m not playing and transporting the pedal board. It fits perfectly and protects the pedals.
This pedal board was the “EUREKA” sort of thing when I bought it!

I’ll second that pillow idea, I use a big beach towel folded over a few times to get the right size to slip into the lid of the pedalboard. They don’t shift an inch in transit

February 3, 2011 at 5:30 pm #114119CryabetesParticipantif that actually takes off, I hope someone starts making lego-compatible bases for pedals.
February 5, 2011 at 12:25 pm #114145ehxguy11MemberSome cool stuff in here. I don’t have a picture but my pedals are in my sig.

yep, all clones. built from the specs on GGG’s site using 2n5089 transistors.
