Muff Tone Wicker – TU2 – OCD – True BP Loop / Clean Boost – Vox 847 Wah – DD5 – Freeze – Polyphase – Empress Trem – Stereo MM Hazarai – Little Lehle Dual – Vox AC15 & Orange AD15
How is the Polyphase? This pedal has always kind of intrigued me.
October 26, 2010 at 3:57 pm #112191octa805MemberJust made the pedalboard this weekend and slowing collecting gear. What should I add?
I’m thinking a Memory Boy or some delay.
October 26, 2010 at 4:56 pm #112195souljah671MemberI’d recommend the Deluxe Memory Boy…just love that pedal!

What do you need the three overdrive/distortions for?
October 26, 2010 at 8:20 pm #112207LiquidiceMemberive been playing like 2 years coming this december. i had a line 6 m13 and it just didnt achieve what i wanted. i typically play most classic rock, but i mostly like to play pinkfloyd/gilmour stuff. so my board is mostly based around what he uses but all EHX pedals since IMO they are some of the better pedals out there without breaking the bank. anyways, still want to add some more stuff over time, ring thing, freeze, and micro synth + expression pedal. my dog (rocco) wanted to be part of the pic so….
im not to crazy about the chorus on the DMM it seems to sound weird, swells over your volume. just sounds funny so im using the one off the mistress for now, but i was looking into the neo clone or small clone. dunno what the main difference on these units are though, if anyone can chime in. thanks

why not? they all sound totally different. I started with the blues driver which is great, then added the Big Muff which is of course ridiculously fuzzy and sounds nothing like the blues driver and just got the metal muff on a great deal and it sounds totally unlike either of them.
Do we NEED any pedals? Not really. They are just lots of fun

Exactly. I’ve got Boss DS-1, EHX BMP, Ibanez TK-999, MXR Wylde OD and a MXR Micro amp. I use all of them with low gain settings and cascade them they give some very interesting sounds combined.

I really like it. Since it has a full EQ (Bass / Treble / Mids ) It’s really versatile. It comes with a 12AX7 but I’ve been giving some thought to try a 12AU7.
It also has huge output, so works wonders as a crunch/boost in front of a valve amp.
Not to mention beautiful dynamics.
Mine is the older model, Japan made (by Maxon, I believe). I heard some bad comments about the version made in Korea.
The new one (The red funny thing) I have not tested at all, so I can’t comment on that one.
Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback, now I’m gonna look into trying to find an older version, possibly.
You know, for some reason…my amp won’t let me use just the return of my effects loop, wish it worked kus my Digitech Valve and Tube distortions, I would love to use as my main preamp, since I only have solid-state amps…

Two things:
1 – I’m pretty sure Maxon still manufactures the “old” tk-999 under its own brand. And I’ve read it’s even better than the one I have. You might have to import one from Japan or talk to an authorized Maxon importer/distributor in your area. If you’re in the US try Pro Guitar Shop.
2 – I used my TK-9999 in my amp’s loop (A solid state fender) and it sounded pretty awesome. But you need to make sure you won’t blow your amp’s power section if you do…Cheers.

I like the polyphase very much. i do however wonder if it is a bit overkill for a live setup as i tend to stick to one or two basic settings. The pedal is a great tool in the studio as it is so versatile. It is the only phaser i have ever owned so i have nothing with which to compare the sound but it is very natural, warm and liquid.
October 27, 2010 at 5:05 pm #112238AshjaahsMuffParticipanthey guys

Korg pitchblack (sometimes at the front of the chain, depends, change it sometimes)this board is working really well for me at the moment, however i am getting the blackstar HT Dual pedal to replace the boss md2 and mxr +, im also going to get a boss dd7, boss tr2, ehx freeze, ehx catherdal and ehx small clone.
so my board will be looking awesome when i get these new pedals !!
December 1, 2010 at 8:12 am #112845KrayunsMemberMy board as of November 2010. My love for EHX pedals only started this summer, with the discovery of the Holy Grail Plus. Now I am a proud owner of a Freeze and a POG2. I am currently saving up for a Zvex Lo-Fi Loop Junky — if I can actually find some space for it!
December 1, 2010 at 8:31 am #112846Mr.GrimMemberwell its done!!….i built myself the ultimate board! i based it on a couple combined manufactured models, with my own twist.
it currently has 26 items on it, but as always it will change here and there as my pedal collection grows, and i feel the ones still on the shelves get lonely, 2 more actualy on the way as of today.
(i need to invest in sum good power supplies! im thinking one fuel tank chameleon + the new MXR one to start)
after i finish setting it up, i will post pics soon!!
