Isn’t the “poll” attached to this thread kind of pointless? Aren’t both single coils and Hb’ers great. I play through them both, depending on what the sound or style calls for. I have mutual love for both, not to mention guitars that have both and that get used equally. I guess it would be more realistic results if it had an added “both/either” or “depends” option. That would probably take most votes.
It’s about as telling as a “tits or a$$” poll……. Aren’t they both just great!
you sir, are absolutely right about this statement… except… the poll would be good as analog vs. digital and both

I agree and also have quarrels with it because I use single coils and humbuckers and both is not an option! Also what about P90s? I use them a lot too.

June 4, 2009 at 9:13 pm #97350chevParticipantI finally got time to send a picture of my actual pedal board.
I’m glad I just got the Electro Harmonix Pedal bag, so I can bring my toys back home to practice between the session with my band.
Next buy will be a Dunlop DC Brick power supply to make some space for a Micro Pog, Nano Clone, Memory Man with Hazarai, Graphic Fuzz…it’s just a matter of time!

But it’s just so hard to not let things bother me! Lol.

it’s the easiest way I found.June 5, 2009 at 2:31 pm #97385B.DawsParticipantQuote:Original 1984 TS9 TubescreamerNot to rag on you too bad but is there any point in saying “Original” 1984 TS9. I still find it funny that the TS9’s are priced where they are and they don’t even have the 4558D chip in them. Even the cheap TS7 (which I got for $20) has the 4558 chip (which I actually swapped for the 4558P due to liking the sound more). Why would anyone buy any tubescreamer other than the TS7? I mean $20 for the pedal, $5 for the parts to mod it to 808 specs. Seriously…if you buy a TS9 or an 808 or a Vintage 808 you are getting ripped!

theres definately something cool about having original stuff though
June 5, 2009 at 6:56 pm #97396B.DawsParticipantQuote:theres definately something cool about having original stuff thoughVery true, I just thought a TS9 was not even worth noting if it was an original was my point. I have an original 2008 Behringer Vintage Time Machine, but does it matter? My point was pointless. I’ll quit being off topic. I’m splitting my pedal board into two boards and I’ll post some pics soon.

Tru That! I like the sound of both.
Quote:Also what about P90s? I use them a lot too.I love P-90’s! i’m using some soapbar p-90’s on the guitar that i’m making. I’m going to work a lot on it over the weekend and probably finish it on monday. and i’ll probably post pics of it!
June 5, 2009 at 7:54 pm #97404electro-melxModeratorbtw, P90’s are single coils so I presume you would choose that option if you use p90’s ….. not all single coils are strat pickups and not all humbuckers are gibson PAF’s either. There are many different sounding varieties of both type.

My ears can hear the difference. To each his own I guess.

I think single coil makes the strat assumption and that is why I said what about P-90s.
Quote:My ears can hear the difference. To each his own I guess.Very true. I don’t know why I was ragging on you about this, must have had a bad day. Sorry
