My big muff is just the USA reissue.
December 29, 2008 at 10:00 pm #89797Ned FlandersModeratorJust? why say just? The RI’s are cool and will be classics in 30 years dude!
December 30, 2008 at 12:25 am #89804BlueSteelParticipantSorry, the reissue big muffs are amazing, and I enjoy playing mine a lot. And they probably will be a classic in 30 years. I said just because it’s not like I have an old one from like 35 years ago. Know what I’m saying?

So, here’s a couple of family shots of my muffs.That’s a v3 3003 BMP with BC239C transistors, a v6 3034 tone switch w/ S2N5088, and the v2 Lamb’s Head 3003 muff with FS36999 I posted earlier.

The Sustain knob is inside the case in that photo. Sine then I drilled a hole in it to mount the pot. However, I’m in the middle of rehousing it, since the fuzz face casing is so damn huge.

The other one is a Black Russian Muff which I modded by taking some transistors out to increase the gain. It’s definetly an underrated muff with some real awesome sounds. My dream muff though, would be a rams head muff. So if anyone is looking to give their away let me know

So if anyone is looking to give their away let me knowThe [LR]amb’s Head* 3003 w/ FS36999 is awesome, but you can get the later v3 3003 w/ BC239C (red/black graphic) for way less money and they still sound great. Keep your eyes open; sometimes you see people selling those as NYC muffs, but it is a [LR]am’s Head inside…same circuit board even, and the same transistors as later [LR]amb’s Heads.
(See my pic above)*Which is is BTW? Ram’s / Lamb’s ? Neither makes much sense anyway, I don’t see any sheep on the pedal. Where did that come from?
(What is that little face thing supposed to be anyway?)January 2, 2009 at 11:14 am #89984electro-melxModeratorQuote:*Which is is BTW? Ram’s / Lamb’s ? Neither makes much sense anyway, I don’t see any sheep on the pedal. Where did that come from?
(What is that little face thing supposed to be anyway?)lol, I saw an ebay auction once that called it a ‘monkey face’
It looks like some hippy dude with wild hair to me…….maybe some acid casualty from the late 60’s!!!

Thanks – it’s absolutely brilliant in a very in-your-face way, especially with the compressor engaged. It runs from liquid sustain with some fur around the edges to an all-out howling sonic assault with barely controlable harmonics. It can get one very, very close to DSotM-era Gilmour to utter mayhem, about as subtle as being poked in the face with a 440v cattle prod on a wet muggy day.
In short – it’s fun!
January 13, 2009 at 12:46 pm #90626electro-melxModeratorLOL! sounds great.
