I have a problem with a glitchy noise from my PolyPhase pedal which is in time with the LED on my Super Pulsar but it only happens when both the Super Pulsar and Grand Canyon are on. It sounds a bit like what you can hear when somebody’s mobile phone signal causes their voice to break up.
I split the outputs from my Platform compressor into two signal paths as follows:
Platform L > Hot Wax > Polyphase > Mixer 1/2
Platform R > Deluxe Big Muff Pi > Deluxe Electric Mistress > Grand Canyon > Super Pulsar > Mixer 3/4
It took me a wile to figure out which pedals were causing the noise but regardless of the status of all other pedals, it occurs on the PolyPhase channels only when Super Pulsar and Grand Canyon are both on (as well as PolyPhase, obviously).Once I determined the cause, I completely removed all other pedals from the chain to eliminate them. If I turn down the Delay Level on the Grand Canyon, it reduces until it disappears but then I have no delay but it is strange how it is in time with the Super Pulsar Beat LED – I know this for sure because it slows down as per the Envelope Rate setting.
I’m at a loss because they aren’t on the same signal path, it happens when I move the PolyPhase away, the power cables don’t cross and the PolyPhase is on its own power supply as it is 24v.
Could anybody suggest a possible remedy, please?

Thanks for the advice.
I’m not saying that it has cured the problem but the electricity in my local area has been off all day today so I have only just been able to power up my gear and I was unable to hear the problem. I’m a bit tired right now so I’ll try again later but if it re-occurs, I’ll definitely try using the Grand Canyon power supply but as with any configuration, there is a shortage of power outlets.
Also, I’m planning to completely re-assemble the pedalboard again in the next few days to fix the base at a different angle, so no doubt there will be a new ‘feature’ or two for me to address.
February 14, 2019 at 8:46 pm #124820EHX STAFFKeymasterYou need isolated outputs on the power supplies or you will get noise.
Try using the separate EHX supplies and see if the noise goes away.February 15, 2019 at 10:25 pm #124827OkuloParticipantI tried using a separate power supply on the Grand Canyon as suggested but it didn’t make any difference so without having to root through all my boxes to find another power supply, I tried connect that one to the Super Pulsar and the Grand Canyon to the multi-output supply I have. That caused the noise to change but didn’t get rid of it so I then found another power supply and used that so that both the Super Pulsar and the Grand Canyon were on separate power supplies along with the PolyPhase on its 24v supply. Again, the noise changed but didn’t go away.
Eventually, after a lot of cable disconnecting, I found that the problem seemed to be caused by the two inputs being adjacent to each other on the mixer; I swapped the inputs around so that there were two channels between the two pairs and the noise seems to have gone away even with the Grand Canyon and Super Pulsar connected to the multi-output supply – which is a relief because there just aren’t enough mains sockets!
