here’s a link to the pdf if you don’t have a hard copy http://www.ehx.com/assets/instructions/stereo-polychorus.pdf
thx for that link… trouble is however that mine is an old vintage one so i fear those settings may not correspond. will give it a go tho…
The settings will be completely different between the vintage PolyChorus and the Reissue.
oh, oops, sorry – didn’t see you said ‘old’ (it’s a small word!)

I have both the reissue and a vintage Polychorus. Don’t even bother trying the current models’ settings as they don’t match up at all. Even the knobs are moved around.
Good news though. I just picked up a copy of the instructions for the original unit. When I get the chance I’ll certainly scan/PDF/post them somewhere.
PS: Anyone have a copy of the alignment procedure for the old Polychorus/Echoflanger?

I have the PolyFlange, which I believe is the same circuit as the vintage PolyChorus and Echoflanger, just different paintjob.
The trimpots were completely off on mine when it arrived. I was able to align them by ear. If you do it this way, I would recommend recording a simple 4 bar loop, then feeding it into the unit while adjusting the trimpots. I optimized the trimpots for the chorus first, then the flanger. If I optimize them for the double track mode, I found that I would set the delay time trimpot too high for the chorus, because I don’t like hearing too much delay in my chorus effect. There’s a happy medium in there somewhere. BTW, the delay time trimpot is the one furthest the bottom left of the board if you are looking at the board from the bottom.

It’s much more than a wobble.

I think that is what I hear in my Rockman Stereo Chorus/Delay when I engage ‘Long Chorus’, which sets the Pre-Delay to sweep between 50ms-54ms.
It’s good for double-track like sounds, but I prefer a phasey chorus effect, so I set it to ‘Short Chorus’ which has a 20ms-24ms Pre-Delay (Delay Time?)

August 26, 2010 at 1:07 pm #111105antistenesParticipantI have to sell my Vintage ’78 Echo Flanger. It was boxed with the receipt when I got it from an old Guitarist friend, but lost it in the mean time. Never thought of selling it anyway! Like to sell it to someone who really appreciates it. It’s like it was just bought. I only used it occasionally at the studio. The sound is just marvelous. I’ve just put it up on craigslist.
