Any ideas? its a little strange.. just had a look inside my Stereo Polychorus EC-7000 rev_D PCB
the switch appears to make contact everytime when i’ve metered it.. filter matrix and flanger operate as per normal and when switching to either chorus or flanger they appears to be in bypass. and then i tap the top of the chassis ever so lightly and it kicks back on..fine.
nothing looks burnt out and i’ve metered all the necessarys. ideas anyone?
in australia, bit far to get serviced from ehx.
It seems to me that maybe the connections are stressed when everything is put together and when you have it apart, it isn’t, so everything measures normal.
When you take it apart and measure the switch connections, plug in the pedal and see if you have the same problem. It’s probably that the connections are intermittent, working sometimes and not other times. A bit of re-soldering might get it done.
At least that’s my theory.
I’d resolder the connections on the selector switch.
thanks for your feedback which gave me ideas.. i tried the turning it on without the pcbs in the chassis and it worked which got me thinking why and what was going on..
turns out the top of the pot where legs get connected to the body of the pot were shorting out next to the chassis so i put some insulation tape on the chassis where they would have been touching. Now it works fine.
good to know that it can happen especially if putting the pcb back in to the box.
I think at least one of the knobs must have had a bang while transporting the unit in my tote. definitely pays to have a hard case.
thanks again!
