So, I’m a professional concert violinist turned rock violinist and I realize some of the things I am looking for might seem strange to guitarists. Nevertheless, I’ve got a question about the foot switch on my POG2. (Which, incidentally, is fricken amazing!) There are two switches. One is the bypass, the other is the selector. The bypass “snaps” very loudly when I press it. The selector is nice a quite. The loud snap is fine when I’m rocking, but when I’m chillin’ out, it’s really quite loud and, for my use, draws too much attention to the electronics which I’m just as happy to leave in the background of people’s minds. So, is there a way I can replace that switch? The Boss OC-3 (which kind of sucks compared to the POG2s sound, tracking, etc.) has such a nice big, soft foot switch. And like I said, the selector on the POG2 is totally fine. Any hints? Suggestions?
Thanks,

Put the POG2 in the fx loop, leave the POG2 engaged (on), and use the switch on the effects loop pedal to switch it in and out of your signal chain. This will also make your POG2 ‘true bypass’. If you like the Boss style footswitch, then I suggest going with the Boss Line Selector. The Radial BigShot EFX has two loops (so you can have another pedal in the other loop, or use it for silent tuning/muting), but doesn’t have an LED to let you know what loop is engaged at any given time.
Hope that helps,

Really appreciate the help! What else ya got? I make most of the typical effects with my hands/technique (distortion, echo, delay, harmony, reverb, etc.) But the POG2 gives me 2 more octaves to play with, and my loop pedal gives me… well, you know. Any other pedals I’m missing. Any must haves that your typical classical violinist might not know about?
Thanks,

Or the RingThing, which is a much more feature packed ring modulator. But I highly recommend the Freeze. Especially combined with the Deluxe Memory Boy (in the FX loop). I got that idea from Bill Ruperts Freeze edition of “Effectology”. If you haven’t seen his Effectology series yet, I highly recommend it. I believe there are 18 or 19 installments now. All of which are available on YouTube.
