Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › POG2: Exactly what is the “Q” and also anyone know of a recall sheet?
Hi,
I know that “Q” in context of a graphic EQ plugin (like the EQ in Logic) is what determines how broad a spectrum is a boost or cut is to cover. Like you might have on a graphic EQ plugin in a DAW, a 2dB boost on a vocal track at 3kHz and the Q might encompass from like 2kHz-4kHz, or one octave.
But I don’t understand what the “Q” is regarding the POG. I can kinda tell what is happening as I press the Q button and the LED gets brighter: it sounds like the Q is getting more and more narrow or something (?)- more high frequency sounding? But my problem is I can’t seem to imagine what this would look like on a graphic EQ and that bothers me.
I do know that the “Q” is related to the HPF but and like I said I can’t see where a Q fits into a HPF or LPF.
Sorry for the stupid question…
Also does anyone know of any nice recall sheets that anyone has made for the POG2?
Thanks!
What do you think of the Q settings it seems so subtle its really hard to hear the difference
have you played the original POG
No, I haven’t used the original POG.
Regarding the Q button, yes, I can tell quite a difference actually. It does have less an effect on an amp that is breaking up though – I am using the pedal with a clean setting on my amplifier.
I’m using with a Rickenbacker through a kinda through a small cheap Vox VT amp.
What is your chain that you are using the POG2 with?
I believe Q = resonance.
resonance being feedback on a filter to produce a peak at the cutoff point.
This is what I use.
