Can anyone tell me the polarity of the POG Device
June 4, 2009 at 6:42 pm #97340julianModeratorPOG or Micro POG?
June 5, 2009 at 5:58 pm #97393Jake MandrakeMemberPOG
June 5, 2009 at 7:06 pm #97398julianModeratorI’m not sure. I used to have a POG, but no longer have one, so I don’t remember what the power supply was marked.
If you have the power supply, but want to power it with a 3rd party all-in-one power supply from Voodoo Labs or T. Rex or something like that and need to know what kind of adapter cable you need, you can simply look at the power supply and read the polarity symbol. Here’s a little picture that shows how to read them:
If you’re missing the 18DC-500 power supply, there are few online dealers that sell replacements. What country do you need an adapter for? EH makes them for EU, UK, and US. If you get the EH one and not a radioshack one (which I wouldn’t trust anyways) you’ll be definitely getting the right polarity.
If you don’t have the adapter, and just need to know the polarity to see what kind of adapter cable you need for a 3rd party power supply, I’d check back here. Someone I’m sure will pop up and tell us.

“The POG requires a power adaptor that supplies 18 volts DC at 500ma. The
center pin of the barrel connector is positive.”Does that mean I have to set the labeled “Tip” to “+”?

I’m not sure what you’re asking by that.
What power supply are you using?
June 7, 2009 at 5:43 am #97484Jake MandrakeMemberI have a universal DC where you can switch polarity. One side is labeled tip and on the other side there are the labels “+” and “-“. The questian is, in the case of The POG do i have to plug it with the labels “+” and “tip” on each side?
June 7, 2009 at 4:20 pm #97499julianModeratorSo I take it the plug has an adapter you can put on it to get it to fit any plug?
As long as the plug adapter doesn’t reverse the polarity itself, yeah, you’d want tip positive.
June 7, 2009 at 4:43 pm #97500Jake MandrakeMemberYeah thats the question
Good then my idea of the polarity was right, but safety first I don t want to kill my baby
June 8, 2009 at 3:12 pm #97546Jake MandrakeMemberhmn it has 1,2 A to 24 VA max isnt that too much? Or is it just the range it can do?
June 8, 2009 at 3:58 pm #97547julianModeratorWell you need 18VDC.
If I were you, I’d get the official power supply to be on the safe side.
June 8, 2009 at 9:10 pm #97560Jake MandrakeMemberOk here we go:

I played today and i’m very very happy!
Everythings fine!
Thank you very much! -
