I have made it a habit to unplug (nearly) everything when not not in use or when leaving the house. This extends to my guitar pedals. I use the Stereo Talking Machine (if you don’t own it, then get a side hustle and get it. It’s worth the effort) and the Holy Grail. I am starting to worry that my habit may be harmful to these pedals. My Stereo Talking Machine was dead silent when pressed on but not being played. However, its been getting noisey and it has me worried. My Holy Grail started acting strangely before it bit the dust (make sure you use the right voltage, yall!).Am I slowly killing the Stereo Talking Machine? Am I supposed to leave it plugged in even when not in use?
No you can unplug as often as you like.
If there is a problem its mostly a dirty or corroded foot switch.
But the techs could tell you more.
For a dirty or corroded foot switch I clean with a spray called Deoxit.
You spray in the top and around the back and after a few on and off presses, things are back to normal.
Best to check with the techs if it is something different.
