The former would provide the overtones of a Nat kKng Cole Al Jarreau Stevie Wonder or Strng to a vocalist.
A male and female voral pedal can be done
The latter would replicate the tones of Guitar players such as Wes Montgomery Earl Klugh George Benson Santana and others who have a distinctive tone.
Also consider a sample version to the keys pedals allowing the user to choose his/her favorite tones to trigger and change perhaps based on different sets.
