I’ve got a problem with my POG that I just got, which by the way I absolutely adore. It doesn’t work though. I keep it in a pedal pad case/pedal board with foam padding.
The problem is it doesn’t work all of a sudden, it didn’t get jarred, kicked, or dropped. The light is always on, but the effect never is. This happened a few days ago and I just unplugged it then plugged it back in and it worked. Now however, I step on the switch and nothing happens, the light is on to begin with, and stays on, still no effect.
any ideas, anyway of fixing it with out having to be parted from it for weeks while it gets sent back & forth to the manufacturer?
CJ
could be a faulty/dirty switch
open your POG up and take a peak inside. Look for loose wires. If you don’t see any, spray a tiny bit of deoxit into the mechanical part of the switch and work it a few times. If that doesn’t do anything, you’ll probably need to send it in.
wires all look tight, what is ‘deoxit’ is that something I can get at a regular hardware store?
it is for cleaning switches and pots, just any electrical contacts really
you should be able to get it at most hardware stores
I put it back together, it didn’t work so I did the plug/un-plug thing again and now it magically works. finicky little bugger eh?
sounds like maybe the power jack is having some problems
Yeah. Check the input jack for a loose connection or see if something is touching it causing this weirdness.
He said the LED is always on, I’d look somewhere else.
Sorry, I can’t be of any help… Digital stuff scares the hell outta me.
