Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Operation Overlord: Possible To Use As A Stereo-To-Mono Summing Box?
Hi folks! Longtime EHX pedal user here (synths, not guitars) but this is the first time I’ve had reason to reach out to the forums. Please be gentle!
Question: If I were to plug two different synths into the two inputs of an Operation Overlord, but use only the left/mono output, would that sum them?
My intended use is to send two monosynths into the pedal, and have them both come out of the left/mono output, thus occupying only one channel on my mixer. I understand that I’d have to adjust the relative volume of the two synths at their own volume controls.
The manual is clear that it can split a mono signal into stereo at both outputs, so the signal paths must connect at some point, but it doesn’t say whether the reverse is possible.
Anyone who’s tried this (or just seen a block diagram, which I could find anywhere either), I appreciate the help!
Have not tried it but I bet once you use the stereo inputs the unit is discreet two channels so it will not sum both.
