Can someone tell me please, is the On/Off switch on the V1 Triangle Big Muff the same as the tone bypass switch on later models, or does it serve a different function? Thanks,
R
I believe it’s a power switch to turn the pedal on and off.
You are correct, sir!!
Isn’t that the function of the stomp switch? Or how do the two interact?
To further clarify, the on/off switch on the triangle knob Big Muff and some later versions turns the battery power on/off, not the effect itself.
Ah, I think I see; please correct me if I am wrong here. So in the original, the stomp switch NOT being of the true bypass type, the battery would be “on ” constantly and would run down quickly. Hence the On/Off switch. This would render the effect unuseable when turned off and would be unnecessary in the conjunction with a true bypass stomp switch.

No, on the early units they didn’t use stereo jacks on the inputs to switch the battery on/off so it was done with a slide switch. You could then leave your guitar plugged in and just set the switch to OFF to conserve the battery.
It has nothing to do with true bypass.
Oh, I see. Thanks you for that.
