I know that this is a long shot but I really need your help.

I got a dear old S.S that I inherited from my father. I have installed and made a few of my own mods on my big muff pi and I was hoping I could manage to save this dear old pedal. The pedal is humming and I can hear the LFOS doing their job but the signal does not go through. If I switch to bypass the signal gets through fine.

Can anyone see anything that looks odd or are out of order? Help would be much appreciated! :)

    Hi,
i think there’s bad soldering job done on the area where i added red circle:

So that’s probably the primary issue. it looks good otherwise but i would also check that
wires ares connected properly to the color switch and footswitch.

Here is a pic of mine:

I think it’s worth fixing it. These are now on ebay for over 150$ sometimes. And they sound great.

If it doesn’t work after fixing that soldering mess post some new pictures i’ll try to help.

    Regards,
    Tommy

I have a SS with the case just like this one, that I bought waaay back in 1975. I’m not an engineer and long ago learned to not mess with soldering etc. as is recommended here!

My SS developed the humming problem described above back in 1999, and I put it in my big box of toys, resolving to deal with it one of these days. Then I moved to the UK and had other things to contend with. Now I’m back, and I’d like to find someone who can help fix this lovely little old box for me.

Who can help me here? Thanks in advance.
