Greetings!
I have an old green MXR Analog Delay…haven’t used it in several years, but just pulled it out again, as I have to use it for some upcoming gigs.
The “regen” control is not working properly — when it is set fully counter-clockwise, I get one repeat, as I am supposed to. However, when it’s rotated fully clockwise, I can faintly hear maybe two repeats and then nothing. I know it used to be infinite, as it regenerated…but now I can’t get the damn thing to work!
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing this?
Many thanks!!

It sounds like the mix knob doesn’t blend in enough delay, maybe something’s wrong there or with a trimpot inside?

lol, anyway Wally welcome to the EHX forum.
This section is supposed to be for people needing help with electro harmonix products, but no worries, no harm done. :thumb:
I’ll leave it here until you hopefully get some help, then I’ll move it to ‘the lounge’ where you are free to talk about anything you like (including other pedal brands)
anyway…..last time I had a pedal where the pot wasn’t working properly it turned out to be a cold solder joint on the pot, I stuck a hot soldering iron on the pot wire connections and it’s been fine since so that might be worth trying.

Thank you, Electro-Melx! I will give that a try. Sincere apologies for posting it in the wrong spot…please move it to ‘the lounge’ — FWIW, I also love my old EH pedals and don’t mean any disrespect.
Thanks again and thank you also for the welcome to the messageboard.

Thanks, DiscoFreq. The mix knob is working properly — it goes from full dry to full wet. The weirdness is either a result of something with the ‘regen’ pot or perhaps cuz it’s not an EH.

No problem, I love vintage MXR pedals too
July 23, 2009 at 1:09 pm #99875nightravenMembersounds like a case of trimpot calibration. as far as i know on every BBD delay pedal (including flange/chorus) there’s a trimmer that sets the limit of how much signal can be fed back, and that’s what needs to be wound up
