    I saw an ad on Craigslist this week…a guy selling it used asking $150 (psh) I offered him $100. Sooooo…the question is…do I buy it? (note: I already have trem on my amp & the trem from the HolyStain & a little vibrato on the DMM)…I REALLY like those vibrato sounds. But I’m also trying to save for the Tube Zipper. So what do I do??

    And who here has a Wiggler? Any problems? Praises?

    That is an excellent price!

    The tone of the Wiggler is VERY different from any other trem or vibrato I’ve heard on any pedal, not just EHX. The tubes really make a difference.

    BTW, I tend to use The Wiggler more than the Tube Zipper. That isn’t to say that the Tube Zipper isn’t a lot of fun, but The Wiggler is almost essential to me.

    Have you played a Tube Zipper yet? The distortion alone is quite nice. The envelope filter is good fun; though a bit more difficult to dial in the right settings than a Q-tron, and not nearly as flexible of an envelope filter.

    I haven’t played one yet…I think I’m really gonna use it less for the distortion…more for the envelope (I don’t see myself using a really heavy envelope either) & the trill & the oscilation (sp?) that can occur…

    I actually just found out that I got back like almost $400 from my health insurance for overpaying earlier in the year! So I think I’ll be able to get the Wiggler AND Tube Zipper! haha.

    But I try to wait to see what comes up on Craigslist…I always get more with less you know?

    Not to dissuade you from the Tube Zipper, as I know you have your heart set on it; but the Q-tron is a much more flexible envelope filter that works well with any instrument, pickup, etc. The TZ sweep is tailored to an upper-mid freq range, and can be a bit squeaky in the down mode. Kind of tempermental. Still, the self-oscillations are lots of fun, if not a bit gimmicky: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6747245

    Yeah it’s just that everytime I hear a Qtron, all I can hear is that funk, disco wakka wakka kind of sound…where as with the Tube Zipper, if offers some features I feel I like better and that are more suited to my style of music.

    So I got it!!! Very happy I did. I LOVE all the different Vibrato sounds.

    And Fener&EHX4Ever;, i checked out a Q Tron. VERY cool…I liked all the possibilities. I wish the demos weren’t so cheesey funk stuff…you can get some pretty spaced out sounds…I think that will be next!
