with live DVDs i have over 100GB of music on my computer… do i listen to it? the hell i do… do i enjoy it? THE HELL I DO but still i’m content with my 4GB mp3 player
back to the topic: i’d buy it, but i’m not sure that i really need analog delay… i’m a delay guy, absolutely, but i don’t know – the SMMH just gives me everything i need
December 6, 2009 at 8:17 am #104894DarkAxelParticipantwell it’s not an effects unit since i hasn’t got the separate reverb section the reverb is awesome for volume swells for example, but for these spacial sounds, i use my “secret” awesome trick with the reverse
of course the reverb has to be set carefully, but what doesn’t?
anyway… it’s hard for me to say… i have space on pedalboard, i just thought i’ll fill it with the HOAX…

December 22, 2009 at 8:04 am #105592hexadeMemberI really can’t wait to get this. It is magical, how i was gearing up to buy the seymour duncan deja vu (which is pretty similar to this, although it is more like the DMB combined with a SMMH, give or take from both). Now EH somes out with the DMB at almost $100.00 less than the deja vu, and has all of thethings I wanted out of the Deja Vu, nothing I didn’t care about, and is right on the horizon. I am DEF buying this! But when will it be here!?

The Deluxe Memory Boy is the newest member of the iconic Memory Man family. It carries on the family tradition with new performance aspects that give it unique power and metronomic definition.
Quality IC’s deliver warm and organic tones while the new Tap tempo allows you to always be in perfect sync with the groove. Choose from five note divisions for metronomic variance while staying in sync and always on the mark. The added EFX loop integrates your pedals to follow the groove with tonal dexterity .Use an expression pedal to control your modulations for performance flexibility. The Deluxe Memory Boy is slick, smart and always on time.
* Pure analog IC’s
* Tap Tempo with footswitch control
* 5 selectable note subdivisions
* EFX loop
* Expression pedal with multiple functions
* Multi waveform modulationShips with Power Supply 96DC-200 BI

my only concern is the sound… think it’s possible to switch the chips out with real panasonic ones?
December 24, 2009 at 8:58 pm #105665The EH ManModeratorIt says it’s analog delay. Why would you worry about changing the chips out?
December 24, 2009 at 9:03 pm #105666nightravenMemberwell personally i wasn’t too impressed with the boy and toy sound using the newer chinese copies of the chips, so i’m thinking, what if i switched them out for the real deal?
December 24, 2009 at 9:15 pm #105667The EH ManModeratorI doubt you could replace them w/ MN3005.
December 24, 2009 at 9:21 pm #105668nightravenMemberalright. was worth a shot – thanks.
i’ll probably cave and get the DMB anyway haha
December 24, 2009 at 10:34 pm #105670cabomanoParticipantThe DMB looks super sweet. Good to know I’ll have something to spend money on after Christmas.
December 26, 2009 at 10:21 pm #105731Dr.EamerMemberHi, i still wait for the release of the DMB,because im not sure which is better for me: The DMM or this one here.
So i asked this some time ago, and do it now again, because maybe in the meantime someone at EHX knows more about it now
“How” will the sound and especially the Modulation /Vibrato be? More like the Famous DMM or are there the same chips inside as in my Memory Boy???
Or is it something between the DMM and the MB??How will the DMB prize be in comparison with the DMM one?
Other question: For a how long time is it safe or sure to become a new DMM with the Good Chips inside.
I mean if i wait too long for the DMB release,or if its release maybe gets delayed and delayed…. and in the meantime the DMM run out of production, then i have the s…
December 27, 2009 at 12:34 am #105734ChumleyParticipant[electronics snob] IC based delays are just no good. If you MUST use solid state, at least use discreet components… Also, whether or not there’s AD/DAs in the signal chain, the digital components will introduce clocking artifacts, and that’s just indecent. If I were you guys, I’d get a tape delay, and leave it at that. [/electronics snob]
I got a MB yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Strangely, I’m using it almost more for vibrato and chorus than I am for standard delay, but it sounds BEAUTIFUL either way. 8D

sold out means ‘we don’t have it yet’ in PGS talk.
