awesome, thanks for the heads up!!
November 17, 2009 at 3:47 am #103837jwny72MemberIt has a gian knob! I returned my Memory Boy because it produced a volume boost when engaged. Glad to see the Deluxe addresses that issue. Tap tempo too? And the option of controlling more parameters w/ an expression pedal? Cool!
November 22, 2009 at 1:01 am #104051nightravenMemberi presume it’s a fixed one of the two
November 22, 2009 at 11:45 am #104065frances rhodesMemberthe “modulation”, in my opinion, refers to both chorus/vibrato and the “effect” on the delay that already features on the memory boy where you can choose the shape of the wave and the depth of the modulation.
you should seek a demo on youtube, i saw one that was pretty relevant.
and the controls on the deluxe memory boy are (in order): blend – gain – rate – depth (which is basically the wave shape – triangle or square or a mix of the 2) – feedback – delay
there is 1 input and 1 output, a send – return loop and you can use an expression pedal
the 2 white switches in the middle part are “tap divide” and “exp. mode” where you can choose to control either one of rate, depth, feedback or delaythat’s all i can tell about it with the picture i found
November 23, 2009 at 12:12 am #104085John JMemberbrilliant – we finally have an onboard rate knob! not that the modulation presets were problematic on the DMM, but it sure is neat that we’ll have full control. unless it’s a two position switch disguised as a pot.

the deluxe memory boy has a gain control! like the memory man.
my only wish is that they would have been released in the old pedal format. i liked the old design so much more… too bad for me, maybe i’ll find somewhere i can buy blanck empty EHX old style stomp boxes…November 24, 2009 at 5:27 am #104139ghostMemberAssignable (feedback finally!) expression, tap tempo, effects loop. I’m SOLD. So is my MemBoy.
They really should have released this before the Boy and Toy, or at least put word out that it was coming. If they pull this move too much I’m going to eventually get fed up (ala Apple Computers).
November 24, 2009 at 5:45 pm #104175John JMemberyeah, im 99% sure it’s just an output volume knob.
the only reason im not 100% sure is because i haven’t played one yet, but like on the newer true bypass dmm it’s there so you can either get unity gain, drop volume a bit to clean up a dirty amp or get a boost for solos/louder bits. the older dmm’s gain knob actually controlled output volume when the effect was disengaged as well, so you always had unity gain.
fwiw, i’ve had an 80gb ipod classic for two years and it’s never bothered me when new ones come out.

i probably wont get it because i like the SMMH more because it has a looper and i dont think i need two delays, and if i were to get another delay, it would probably be a regular memory boy.
December 1, 2009 at 7:02 pm #104577julianModeratorI might get one eventually, even though I’m not much of a delay guy.

Oh, and I’m totally buying a DMB. Tap-tempo, analog and affordable, I’m in.

but i dont really have time to watch the stuff a lot. and it uses a lot of battery.December 3, 2009 at 12:25 am #104705SanquiFlerbMemberAlltogether, mixing my music with my brother’s (both pc’s iTunes) we have aprox. 18-20GB. I could never have like 80GB, that would be too much.
Going back to the topic, and answering to jesse: I would buy it, totally would. I love mixing weird pedals, and FX loops are a great way to archieve this one. Imagine, idk, lets say a fuzz, or a ring mod inside the dmb loop, and the dmb inside the qtron+ loop (or vice versa). That would be strange (and would have lots of patch cables). Unfortunately, I don’t have the $$$. Luckily I’m trying to get a job. I really want to. Summer is coming here, and there is not too much to fill in 12 hours of the day, so 5 to 8 hours of hard work will keep me focused.
