I’ve recently picked up a Battalion Preamp+DI pedal, and as I’ve been playing around with it I’ve noticed a ton of extra noise coming from my amp and out of the PA when going through a console. I’m playing a Fender MIM Deluxe Active Jazz bass.
Things I’ve tried:
-New battery in the bass
-Flipping the ground lift switch on the pedal into different positions
-Using the -10dB pad on the pedal intended for active bass signals (this helped a bit, but not enough to solve the problem)
-Setting the noise gate on the pedal – this cut out the noise, but at the setting it did that I had to attack the strings extra hard to get anything to come out and the signal would cut in and out
Has anybody run into a similar issue or have anything to suggest I try? I like what the Battalion can do in terms of sound shaping and the distortion channel, but at this point it is almost unusable for me.
Cheers!
Does the noise goes away when you unplug thebass from the input, and if it goes away when the pedal is in bypass. If the -10dB switch helps it must be something very early in the signal path.
It does go away when the pedal is in bypass, but when the pedal is active, even with the volume on my bass rolled all the way down the noise is still very noticeable.
It sounds like something is wrong with the pedal early in its signal path. Please email info@ehx.com to get it repaired/replaced. Very sorry you’ve had this trouble.
