I was about to buy a Octave Multiplexer which I ordered recently, but when I tried it on a drive chanell of a Peavey Classic 30 it made strange repetitive noise (sounds like tk-tk-tk-tk), and that was with the Blend knob on half and not playing anything.
Tried it both with single coil and humbucker guitars but the same noise occured.
I wonder if this particular pedal has this glitch (they didn’t have another in store) or is it a common thing with this model, or what…
If anyone knows what the problem might be, or had a similar experience with it, I’d appreciate some help.
Thanks.
I’ve been told dirty or kinked guitar strings can sometimes cause the farty tk tk tk noise.
Try standing much further away from your amp; I’ve found that some octave pedals will give you train sounds (like the wheels clicking on the tracks) if you (with guitar in-hand), the pedal, and your amp are in close proximity. Spread it all out and see if it goes away.
Hope this helps, certainly helped me

You may be right, the store I was in is really packed with equipment so there wasn’t much room to spread the cables. I’ll try what you suggested and see what happens.
Thanks.
Any news on how this worked?
Yeah, I have the same problem…when the pedal is engaged I start hearing that train track noise. The noise is louder with sub set to off…when sub is turned on the noise is mostly inaudible, but I like it better in the off position. Also, the only time I’m hearing the noise is when I’m not playing…when I’m playing everything seems to drown it out. Also, I’ve tried new strings, using a 10′ cord from the amp…I’m not using a wall wort, could this be the reason?
Bump. Thanks.
