Hello.
I am new too this forum and need some help.
A friend asked me few days ago if I could help him with his Holy Grail. He said It is working but there are no effects when it is on, led is lit, sound through the box but no effect when he push the switch on and off, nothing happens when he turn the potentiometer. Any help before I open the box will be helpful.
cheers
Anders
Is there any signal at all coming out of the Grail when on?
Yes, but no effect at all thats strange.
Cheers
Anders
There’s a couple of things it could be. A bad solder joint on the Blend control would cause that but my guess is that U5 has died. If you have an audio probe you can check for effected signal at the Blend control and the inputs/output of U5.
Mine seems to be doing the same thing. Except when I disconnect and reconnect the powersupply, the effect operates as it should and sounds normally. Almost as if the spike jolts it into working properly. Then the next time I play, a day later, I have to go through the routine again to get it to operate. It’s out of warranty and am handy with the soldering iron..is it something I can take care of?
I got my friends holy grail working. The solution was very simple I heated all solder points for wires and the blender (potentiometer) and it sounds great now I have too find an holy grail for my self.
Thanks for the advice.
