I just bought a new ehx micro synth pedal. Works good and sounds fantastic. Although there a couple of bugs that I’m a little confused about.
1st: in the voice section when I just have the sub octave up all the way or backed down a little bit when i play the low E string or the A and let the note ring out it randomly jumps the octave at points. And when it does so theirs a nice crackling sound that coincides with this pain.2nd: When i let a note ring out when the signal gets a little low, or just a little quieter the sound cuts out with that crackling sound,or just cuts outwith no warning. I don’t know if i have to adjust the preamp gain or what.
3rd: there are some build issues. I have a random hole punched out on the top of the pedal. Also as I was writing this I touched the face of the pedal and the black came off in a place. Also the screws on the back of the pedal are striped so i cant really get in and change the preamp gain.
Other then that i love this pedal, the sounds are what I want but i just want to know if other people have had these problems, or if i have to return the pedal and get a new one. thanks for responding.

the only not normal things would be a random hole in the top and stripped threads of course…
the pedal is an old analog design, you are experiencing the ‘charm’ of the pedal. i had the same questions when i first got my pedal. i have since learned to love the quirks and work around them. it takes time to get to know the microsynth.
to aid in sustain you can add a compression pedal before the unit – that should help with the sustained notes cutting off so soon

Although the thing that bugs me still is that i eventually got my pedals back off and checked out what the innards look like, its not point to point wiring, but actually a circuit board. So with that new technology in a pedal like this wouldn’t all those old bugs of the old analog pedals be fixed. Or is that just an analog thing no matter if its new technology or old?

(which would have also had a circuit board)
