Are the newer DMMs still utilizing the MN3205 chips? Is there any way for me to tell if my pedal contains these chips without opening the box? (serial #, sound, etc.). I understand that some of the newer models may contain the 3008 chipset instead of the MN3005s.
Good question. I also own a new Deluxe Memory Man in XO box and i’d like to know if it has the same parts as the older ones.
I looked today inside my new DMM in XO box and it indeed has the MN 3008 chips. Does anyone know how this translates in sound? Are these chips inferior to the old ones? Or are they the same?
The same. Only the oldest, 4 knob blue face DMMs have the Reticon SAD1024 BBDs, which are notoriously lofi and noisy (although, cool in their own way).
