This sound is making a big comeback. A lot of heavier musical material is using these types of sounds in their performance. Last week at the NAMM show, there was a serious buzz from some serious “metal dudes” who showed some genuine interest in the VoiceBox. The Vocoder on this box makes some cool sounds and a lot of guys are getting ideas on how to use it. Even some all female groups came by and were stoked about how cool the VoiceBox is. Watch out for the vocoder…. it’ll Pop and Lock you out!
I think people are starting to see that the voice is as much an instrument as a guitar, and treating it as such.
I’m going to put a small custom AB box with an XLR in on my board right before my SMMH so I can loop and manipulate vocal sounds.
Roger & Puretube getting his record signed, at latter`s first attended ZAPP-concert ~20 years ago…
after that, I was ever so lucky to attend a lot more of his/their gigs,
equipped with backstagepasses…
we spent some nice time together after the shows!
I miss him – R.I.P., Roger.
Thanks for that Ton, very special!
