So I bought a Little Big Muff a while back and when I did the Guitar Center employee told me that it would work fine with a standard BOSS 9V adapter (I, being an idiot at the time, didn’t check this myself). It worked fine for a while but then one day just stopped working all together. When I asked the people at GC about this they told me that the pedal WASN’T compatible with that adapter and the high level of power from the BOSS adapter probably fried the panel of the pedal.
So my first question is, is this accurate? I’ve thought about picking up another adapter to try with it but this seems pointless if the panel truly is fried. If it is fried, is there anything I can do to repair it? I’m sure my warranty has expired by this point. Am I just left with a little gray box now?
Help!
Thanks for your time.
Its totally 100% compatible with a boss 9volt DC adapter.
Yep, as long as the voltage and polarity is correct and the adapter can supply AT LEAST the current required by the device it should be OK. If the adapter’s rated for higher current the device will only draw what it needs.
