    So it eliminates the hum from switch positions 1 and 5 completley? Does it only silence the hum during pauses, or does it also silence it during play?

    Yes, during pauses, with no hands on the guitar. It’s essential for my American Standard Strat.

    I just found an old interview with Randy Rhodes talking abiout how early on his C-J squealed when he wasn’t playing it.
