Hey guys I bought the Silencer noise gate sometime last year but never used it….fast forward the other day I hooked it up and it works great but it is microphonic….When I tap on the pedal you can hear it through the amp….You can hear it if the pedal is on or off.It’s not the patch cables as they are good.What can be done with it? Thanks

This is the first we have seen a microphonic Silencer. We just tested three Silencers and could not replicate the microphonics heard in the video. It is possible that the patch cables are just slightly loose inside the phonejacks, if you have a different type of patch cable it would be worth trying them. Also could you try it with battery? This would help us determine if power has anything to do with these microphonics.
Just out of curiousity, how loud is your amp?

Hello I tried 3 different good patch cables and the same result.Tried it with a battery and the same.My amp was at a bedroom level(low)….I borrowed my brothers Silencer and it was perfect….Hooked up mine and the same noises as before.

It sounds like your Silencer is malfunctioning. You should contact info@ehx.com to set up a return.
