Loud mesa boogie and my micro synth are picking up radio as loud as the amp is set. Im taking the micro synth out of the path and it stops. Any tricks? Different length cables dont help. Bad input?
I had that happen once when using my Germanium OD in a warehouse where my friend had an art studio set up. It was the weirdest thing. It only did it there.
i get radio signals when i have my ds-1 on, but its rare and almost never happens. it gets annoying though.
it’s probably more likely to be your guitar picking it up… you, your guitar and it’s cable make a great radio mast. … pedals amplify the problem … and your amp broadcasts it.
there isn’t really much you can do apart from make sure all cables and guitar are well shielded…. or find somewhere else to play
i don’t think its the guitar…..
when i was about 12 and got my first guitar and amp, it was a Harmony combo kit from Sears.
the guitar was actually a really good strat copy!? but the amp has 5 watt, 8″ speaker, and plastic box. (this would have been about 1992)
when i was little i was playing with the sound that it made when i touched the end of the guitar cable to my skin when it was plugged into the amp.
to be funny when a friend was over i actually stuck the cable in my nose! and to our surprise i got a radio signal but it was talk radio in Chinese!
any time i did it, it was always Chinese talk radio and i live in the US, i always thought that was funny.
It does it with all my guitars to varrying degrees and all my amps everywhere I play. The only thing that fixes it is to remove the micro synth from the chain. Its the micro synth picking up radio. It has gotten worse over time.I love the synth but hate the headache.Anyone?
mmm… some sort of grounding issue maybe?
you could get EHX to have a look at it.
