I just purchased the Micro-Synth Pedal and unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be working properly. I have used the sample settings in the instructions and also tried a few of the suggestions on the EH website and the sounds being emitted are not similar to the ones I hear on the sample youtube clips. I have tried using a Maxon Compressor in front to help sustain the sound but no luck. The effects either shut off within a second or two, not recognized (no sound) or sound funny. In addition with every setting, chords sound like mud. No clear chord sound can be emitted from the pedal
I have even tried opening up the back and adjusting the Trim Pre-Amp gain and this didn’t help. I believe this unit is broken and would like to know what you suggest.
Please let me know what I can do before taking it to a repair shop or sending it to EH for repair.
Also, I am using Fender Telecaster 52 RI, Maxon Compressor pedal, Micro-Synth Pedal through a VOX AC15CC1X

Sorry to hear you are having problems.
Set your MicroSynth like the picture below.
Plug your guitar straight in to the MicroSynth and play it through a clean amp.
It should sound exactly like the bypass signal.
If its distorted turn down the input gain trim pot.
If it sounds dark or sputters you have a problem that needs to be addressed by the service dept at EHX.
Good luck, the MicroSynth is one of the greatest pedals I own.

That seemed to work, thanks Bill. I had to adjust the pre-amp gain and it seems to sound much better now. The square-wave still doesn’t sound right, but maybe it will take me a little time to get used to this pedal.
Is there anywhere people have stored there suggested settings for different sounds? I have the 12 suggestions that came with the pedal but would love to see more. I am trying to replicate some of the sounds from Devo’s Mongoloid.
