Hi All,
Bought a MMM a few months back off ebay and it worked great when I slapped it in my chain and powered it from a 1 spot. No problems at all.
Rearranging some pedals today and thought I’d take the MMM out of the chain and plug in directly to it and straight out to the amp only still powered by the 1 spot. Get it set and………doesn’t work. LED doesn’t come on. Nothing. The heck?
So I put it back in the chain and with it already on and the second it’s linked up to other pedals, it works perfect but when I pull out the audio cable it instantly dies down.
Am I just doing something obviously wrong or is this some weird glitch?
Long run it probably won’t matter since it will always be chained but it just bugs me something fierce.

December 23, 2010 at 4:40 pm #113271octa805MemberRight. Thank you.
I was unclear as to why when I removed the MMM from my current pedal chain and tried to use it by itself and fully connected the power source and instrument cable on both sides that it did not turn on?
I tried several cables and it still wouldn’t work. Weird.
December 23, 2010 at 5:07 pm #113272CryabetesParticipantwhen you had it in a pedal line [as opposed to solo], you were using a daisy chain right? like, one of the 1spot multitap addon things?
I mean, at that point, it would have to be part of the physical jack or cable-end, right? something where the daisy chain was hitting a contact and not the 1spot plug?

December 23, 2010 at 5:30 pm #113274The EH ManModeratorI think he means that you may want to suspect either the 1Spot connector you were powering it with or it may be a problem with the AC adapter jack in the MMM itself. Either of those may be intermittent.

September 28, 2011 at 4:22 pm #116069octa805Memberjumping back to this one after having left my MMM in the chain and forgotten all about it
still won’t work on it’s own when not chained to another pedal. too weird.
my onespot works fine w/ all of my pedals so that’s not it.
it’s something w/ the MMM but I don’t get how it could be the power supply since it works just fine with another pedal in front of it.
haven’t tried the battery but maybe that’s it. I don’t know. too weird.
anyone else had this happen?
September 28, 2011 at 6:30 pm #116070CryabetesParticipantdo you have, say, another 9vDC adapter you could try with it?
or maybe use a battery clip to 2.1mm (9v battery to boss sized power supply) clip and try it alone?wait does it have a battery in it?
September 28, 2011 at 6:43 pm #116071octa805Memberthanks for the ideas. appreciate it.
I don’t have another adapter but I can’t see how that could be the problem since all of my other pedals work just fine off it if I pull them out of the chain and run them solo.
No battery in it and I don’t have a battery clip converter thing either.
I’ve never tried to run it on battery. Maybe I’ll see if that works by itself.
September 29, 2011 at 3:25 pm #116075CryabetesParticipantyeah distortions are not exactly power hogs either so a battery should last a good long while in it. just remember to unplug the input cable so it’s not on all the time.
October 30, 2011 at 8:38 pm #116245Mr.GrimMemberok this member is not crazy!!!! we need help here!!!
i have the same exact problem as the above user with my nano bass balls!
*powers fine in daisy chains.
*powers fine with battery or battery snap adapter.
***but will not power with any adapter by its self?!?!?!?!?!?!
i know what i am doing, i tried 8 adapters that are all correct specs, opened pedal and found to broken traces or solder joints!
!!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
October 31, 2011 at 12:22 am #116113octa805Memberit’s really annoying
I might ditch the MMM because of it
November 17, 2011 at 9:49 pm #116360idol4everMemberi have same problem. not sure about daisy chain powering it as i have a lack of leads currently but had it a couple of months before dc stopped working with psu previously fine(no external cause), battery power works no problem but it’s annoying to change given the 4 screw setup(not that it needs changed very often).
not really contributing any new info here but felt others might appreciate further confirmation that it’s a fault with the product. would love to hear if anyone manages to fix it and how.November 17, 2011 at 11:36 pm #116361The EH ManModeratorQuote:i have same problem. not sure about daisy chain powering it as i have a lack of leads currently but had it a couple of months before dc stopped working with psu previously fine(no external cause), battery power works no problem but it’s annoying to change given the 4 screw setup(not that it needs changed very often).
