Hey,
I bought these two pedals yesterday and a friend and I were playing around with them this afternoon and we seem to have discovered the most metal tone in the world.
We started by setting up the MM to produce a nice tone that we appreciated.
Then we kicked in the top-boost to see what that sounded like. It didn’t sound great for playing rhythm, but did sound awesome for soloing.
Then we hit upon a stroke of genius and applied the Octaver on a very bassy setting at the same time as the MM.
The boosted-tops from the MM and the bass thud from the OM worked amazingly well together for plam-muted, chuggy riffs. It has created pretty much the most devastating metal tone that I have ever heard.
I hope to post a video of it in action soon – but if you want to really see for yourself, get down to the guitar store and try it out.
Great!

sounds interesssting herghost!
could i just ask which version of the Metal Muff you were using; w/ top boost, micro or pocket?
matt
hi – I’m using the MM with Top Boost.
When Top Boost is on, the sound is too unbalanced to play rhythm – adding the OM regains the balance and makes it beautiful.
very cool…(I love a whole bunch of EH peals with dist.)
