I recently purchased a Carbon Copy delay. I’m finding it colors my tone too much. It’s too warm. Has anybody A/B’d the Memory Toy and the CC? From the limited clips I’ve seen, the MT doesn’t seem as warm, which is a good thing to me. Can anybody confirm this?
March 22, 2010 at 12:51 am #108706jaceMemberI was thinking of buying 1 of these pedals and was wondering the same thing. It would be nice if someone has both and could post some clips or give some pros and cons on the 2.

Hmmm.
I’d go Memory Toy, the modulation is much richer IMHO.March 23, 2010 at 3:14 am #108736ToonsterMemberPersoally I didn’t like the Carbon Copy… Memory Toy sounds great, but I wait choosing untill Deluxe Memory Boy comes in store
May 8, 2010 at 3:45 pm #104477MJ27MemberHi Guys, I have the Carbon Copy and the Memory Toy, and I have to say I prefer the Memory Toy. It has a clearer more defined tone and the mod is lush!
Carbon Copy is good as it provides a nice warm echo…
May 11, 2010 at 8:53 pm #103919AshjaahsMuffParticipantim looking at getting a memory toy
i currently have a deluxe memory man and i want to add another delay and ive been looking at the memory toy, its something that really interests me
May 25, 2010 at 8:57 pm #104573FluffChopMemberI have owned both versions of the Carbon Copy. My first impressions were that it was very bright and articulate. I thought that was a good thing. When you turn up the delay knob it does get darker though. I have on order a Memory Toy so I will compare them.

I have tried both of them and I like the sound of CC better and the fact that you can dial up your amunt of modulation with a trimpot, that MT doesn’t have… but I baught MT cause the price and for my use it is enough and does work great for me…can anybody tell me how much power MT consumes? mA? I have to modify my power suply…
thanx

silkThe Memory Toy does have a trim pot for modulation, it’s on the board in the middle of the top between the two pots. It makes a huge difference in the modulation sound. I love the MT after I fiddled with the pots but mine still won’t self oscillate. If I up the first trim to where it self oscillates then the repeats are distorted. Regardless the delay is beautiful. I did recently get a Way Huge Aqua Puss and I really wish it had more time but it sounds great too.

May 31, 2010 at 3:21 pm #103040FluffChopMemberThe Memory Toy and Stereo Clone Theory arrived a few days ago. I didn’t like them so I have already sold them on eBay and bought another MXR Carbon Copy and Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus.
