So I recently picked up a Memory Toy to try and save space on my pedal board (I normally use a Behringer Vintage Time Machine which is the size of the DMM). Out of the box I was really enjoying the pedal at first as it has a great delay sound. Then I started messing with the feedback and guess what? At max it does not self oscillate. I know the Toy’s come out of the shop all over the place and some people’s oscillate and some don’t. So I began reading around and started messing with the trim pot. So with a tiny CCW turn on Pot 1 I could get it to self oscillate but then my delay is very distorted and doesn’t have the smoothness. So in the end I kept my VTM for self oscillation stuff and just reverted my Toy back to the original settings (I did mess with the Mod pot some too though and it’s awesome!). I’m very happy with it for the price but they really shouldn’t even mention the self oscillation feature because it appears to rarely work. What is your experience with the Toy? (I have a demo with the Toy being used in parts on my site @ http://sites.google.com/site/memphisjamming/demos and the song is HeavenBD if you want to check it out)
