Had it since Christmas. Love it. Always worked like a champ. Have it in a large pedal chain but on it’s own dedicated power supply. Never gigged with it, spilled anything on it, it never left my bedroom. Always worked great.
Then yesterday I clicked it on and the volume dropped to about 1/4 or less of what it should have been. Could barely hear it. Effect was still working and could hear delay, just no volume really. No idea what happened.
Took it out of the chain, swapped, guitars, amps, all that stuff and still the same thing.
I imagine I could send it back to EHX since it’s under a year warranty. Do I do that by registering the product and send them an email or should I call?
Also, seems lame that I’d have to pay shipping for something that isn’t my fault at all. Eh.
This happen to anyone else? All I’ve read about are the volume increases (which I never really had).
Is there a buffer in the MB that may have taken a dump?
Thanks!
August 10, 2011 at 8:13 pm #115784CryabetesParticipantyou check the board connection? there’s two boards and they’ve been known to partially come undone at the connector. just snaps back into place.
August 10, 2011 at 8:15 pm #115786octa805MemberI took a look at the guts and was hoping to find something like a big burn mark or have something just kind of fall out so that it was glaringly obvious but didn’t catch anything like that
I’ll check the boards tonight but they seemed pretty well stuffed in there and weren’t moving if I remember correctly
on another note, the components they use on those boards are crazy tiny. how could you ever repair/replace some of those?

September 2, 2011 at 4:18 pm #115569octa805MemberThought I’d check back in here
Got it back from EHX yesterday. About a 2 week turnaround. Same unit that I gave them as it still has the same scratches and velcro on it. Works just fine now but no note in box, no indication of what went wrong and it cost me $12 to ship it to them and another $12 to get it shipped back even though I’ve only owned it for 9 months (inside their 1 year warranty if I remember right).
Anywho, I’m not unhappy since it was a gift and $12 each way ain’t too much but all in all, uh, it should have probably worked right, it would have been cool if they paid my shipping and it would have been really cool if they told me what they repaired so I’d have an idea of what broke in case it breaks again.
Still love it and their products, that’s my unsolicited feedback is all.
back to nerding out now

October 15, 2012 at 4:30 pm #118251octa805Memberjust wanted to check back in on this.
I asked EHX for help on their facebook page. Someone contacted me, said that they got approval from Mike Matthews to take care of my repair for free.
thanks EHX!
