Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Memory Boy Deluxe “tap” noise. + annoying hum
Yo, I registered here today and have had a look around if anyone has had any problems similar to mine, needless to say I didnt find a solution nor a similar problem, but there were a TRUCKLOAD of faults to do with the Memory Boy Deluxe!! damn
Anyway, so basically when disengaged, the pedal likes to make a noise that is in perfect time with the tap I have set it at, as well as an annoying sine-like hum that sits just a few cents above c5…
I was wondering what could be going on, im running the pedal through a daisy chain,a 9v power adapter etc, do I need to isolate this pedal? Are there any powerboards that will allow this to work better, or is this just a manufacturing/wear and tear fault.
Cheers
Hi Reino,
First step is to isolate the pedal. Also for minimum noise in your rig you may want a power supply such as voodoo labs (there are many brands out there). Get something with isolated grounds, or else, something with a shared ground such as your power chain won’t fix the problem.
Also try to isolate the memory boy, get it out of the fx chain and out of the power chain, to try it alone just to see if it does that just by itself.
I bet your pedal is ok!

Hope it helps!
